North Korea: Will Kim Jong-Un ever attack anyone with nuclear weapons? I don’t think so, I’m much more concerned that the country’s going to fall apart. OR that the Americans put sanctions against the Chinese when they start getting closer to being able to launch against the West Coast. That will be a worry in the next few years. Syria: Will the ceasefire hold? No, that’s kinda easy, it’s like “will there be peace between Israel and Palestine?” But, I do think that you’ll see less violence towards the end of the Obama administration. The Russians, the Turks, the Americans, at least for the next few months have reasons to be cooperating. US-Russia: Can an anti-terror alliance work? I guess one would say yes under a President Trump, because they like each other so much. But generally speaking no, the Russians really have very different security preferences to the US in the Middle East and of course in places like Ukraine, that trumps. France: Will Marine Le Pen be president? She is actually polling in first, you know, head-to-head against a lot of people right now, but I still think that once you get to the election she’s not going to win, and it’s probably going to be by a fairly large margin. EU: Can a European defense union be successful? Incrementally, yes. Watch what the French and Germans are doing, it’s kinda cool. It’s better than nothing, it’s not a new NATO and we’re out of time.
